Peace of mind for expectant mums in Sheffield

Sheffield Private Pregnancy Care

Two of the Sheffield area’s most prominent experts in pregnancy care are to launch a new service aimed at bringing peace of mind to expectant mothers.

Professor Dilly Anumba, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Sheffield University, and Mr Roobin Jokhi, a specialist in the same field, have set set up the service at Claremont Private Hospital offering consultant-led advice, scans and support at all stages of pregnancy from the earliest weeks to birth and post-birth.

Both have published important papers on pregnancy and maternal and foetal medicine and are regarded as leading practitioners in their respective areas.

The service will also include preconceptual counselling, all types of pregnancy ultrasound scanning including 3D and 4D, recurrent miscarriage investigations and advice, and the most up-to-date screening tests available.

Mr Roobin Jokhi said: “We have had enquiries for many years from women wishing to see a consultant privately during pregnancy and it was because of this demand that Professor Anumba and I decided to form Sheffield Private Pregnancy Care with the backing of Claremont.”

“Patients will be able to choose what level of support suits their needs best.  It may be they just want to come in for a consultation if something is worrying them or to have a 4D scan.  Or, they might want the full care package which offers peace of mind of expert consultant led care whenever they want it and in a relaxing, calm environment.

“We hope the service will appeal to anyone from new mums to those who have had problems in the past and want that extra re-assurance or perhaps those going through a complicated pregnancy.”
