I am a Consultant Physician and clinical lead for obesity at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust, with a busy private practice at Spire Claremont Hospital. I specialise in obesity, diabetes and endocrinology.

I have a special interest in obesity and involved in research in obesity and diabetes (Diabesity). I obtained specialist training in diabetes and endocrinology in Leeds. I believe in an holistic outlook to any problem and like to work within an integrated team.

I am also the advisor for Simplyweight Ltd, which is a global specialist weight management organisation. Simplyweight provides specialist online and offline weight management programme for people with obesity and its associated co-morbid conditions including diabetes, PCOS, fatty liver, erectile dysfunction and Infertility. I also run the reputed ‘The London Obesity Clinic’ in London.

I have a number of publications and presentations. I am also involved in obesity related research and supervises PhD students. I am an international speaker and have authored books and book chapters related to obesity. I founded and chair the National Diabesity Forum in 2008. National Diabesity Forum provides a network for health care professionals involved in the management of Diabesity. I am also the editor-in-chief of a popular medical journal ‘Diabesity in Practice’.

I am involved in both local and international charity work, predominantly to help people with weight problem. I have set up an organisation called ‘BiggestHelp’.
