Training & background:
Mr Mark Peterson is a Consultant in General Surgery with a special interest in Upper GI Surgery. His NHS post is at the Northern General Hospital and he conducts his private practice here at Claremont Private Hospital.
Mr Peterson trained in Leicester and Sheffield in Upper Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary surgery and has been a Consultant Surgeon and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals since 2006.
His specialist practice is in liver, bile duct, gallbladder and pancreatic diseases. He offers a full range of treatments for gallstone disease including keyhole bile duct surgery and ERCP (endoscopic treatment).
He is an experienced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeon and also offers treatment for hernias of the abdominal wall and groin, including open surgery with local anaesthetic, and laparosopic approaches.
