I am a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Royal Hospitals, with a private practice at Spire Claremont Hospital.

I am a keen sportsman myself having represented Great Britain at triathlon and have a specialty interest in groin surgery, both for hernia and sportsman’s groin injuries.

I qualified from Sheffield University and gained my fellowship in general surgery in 1997 and trained in a wide range of centres around the world including Australia, Scotland and Germany.

I was president of the Dukes’ Club for colorectal trainees and a member of the Association of Coloproctology Education committee. I developed my interest in laparoscopic surgery as a trainee and have continued this developing laparoscopic colorectal surgery in the NHS.
