Mr Pathak is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals with a private practice at Claremont Private Hospital.
Mr Pathak completed his higher urological training in South Yorkshire. In 2010, he was appointed a full-time, NHS Consultant Urological Surgeon. He has broad experience in general urological disorders. He specialises in urological cancers, particularly kidney and testicular cancer, the latter for which he is the South Yorkshire Lead. He performs both open, laparoscopic (keyhole) and robotic surgery.
Formerly, teaching Anatomy at the University of Oxford. Currently, he is a trainer on the National Laparoscopic Kidney Surgery course. He is an examiner at The University of Sheffield Medical School. He is also an exam question writer for the FRCS (Urol) examinations. He was awarded an MD at The University of Leicester investigating molecular biological markers for the chemoprevention of prostate cancer. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and written book chapters too. He has undertaken travelling fellowships to the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and The University of Southern California, USA.
