Mr Harrison is part of Sheffield Orthopaedics Ltd (SOL), proudly in partnership with Claremont Private Hospital. In addition to Claremont’s CQC accreditation, SOL has it’s own CQC accreditation and is part of Claremont’s 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on-call consultant cover provision for inpatients. SOL Consultants are integral to the reduced length of stay Claremont patients enjoy, compared to other providers.
Mr Tim Harrison is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Northern General and Royal Hallamshire Hospitals, with a private practice at Claremont.
He specialises in hip and knee surgery and has a specialist interest in complex joint replacement including revision surgery for infection and massive bone loss.
Tim Harrison trained at the Royal Free and University College Medical School in London, obtaining a first class degree and qualifying with a Merit award in 2004. He undertook basic surgical training in the southeast before moving to Cambridgeshire and Norfolk for his specialist Orthopaedic training. He was appointed to the highly respected Cavendish Arthroplasty Fellowship in Sheffield to further develop his interest in complex hip and knee surgery.
Since 2014 he has been an expert member of the Beyond Compliance Advisory Group that helps to monitor and advise on the safe introduction of new or modified implants. He continues to be involved in hip and knee related research and education.
In 2015 he was appointed as a Consultant Hip and Knee surgeon at the Royal Derby Hospital before returning to take up his current Consultant post at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals in 2017.
