|Andrew Thornton, Hospital Director
Andrew joined Aspen Healthcare as Claremont Hospital Director in January 2018. Andrew looks forward to continuing with the hospital’s multi-million pound investment programme and has held various Director posts within the public and private sector including Nuffield Health and Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.Watch Andrew’s video here
|Carol Jones, Director of Nursing & Clinical Services
Carol became Director of Nursing & Clinical Services at Claremont in May 2013 and is responsible for quality governance and all things clinical. Carol is a qualified nurse with over 20 years’ experience in the private sector holding roles in Nottingham, North Staffordshire and now enjoying her return to Sheffield.
|Nicola Manton, Hotel Services Director
Nicola has worked at Claremont since 2004, her key responsibilities consist of hotel services, administration and the health & safety of the hospital. Nicola is an accredited World Host Facilitator delivering customer service training to staff. Nicola previously managed student accommodation for the city’s students.
|Richard Lee, Finance Director
Richard joined Claremont in 2014, he is responsible for the financial strategy & governance of the hospital. He previously spent over 8 years working as Finance Manager within Nuffield Health, Circle & the NHS. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts.
|Nicola Ashworth, Guest Relations Manager
Nicola joined the Claremont team in November 2016 following a long standing and successful career with Transform. She oversees our Private Patient Team and takes very good care of our patients ensuring they have a smooth journey with us from start to finish. Nicola loves meeting people and thrives on providing excellent customer service.
|Paula Lee, Business Development Manager / OPD Capacity Manager
Paula joined Claremont in 2015. She has over 25 years’ experience working in marketing, design & events previously working for over 15 years at both Sheffield Universities. Paula is involved with all aspects of Marketing & Business Development including Consultant liaison, social media and ensuring all marketing materials and websites are up to date.
Amy Irlam, Physiotherapy Manager
Amy joined the team in 2014 becoming Physiotherapy Manager in 2020. At Claremont, Amy is responsible for the inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy team, ensuring we offer a range of evidence based and effective physiotherapy interventions.
|David Bell, Ward Manager
David has worked at Claremont since 2004 & he manages the ward & day-case unit. David qualified as a nurse in 1984 and has worked exclusively as a surgical nurse since then; achieving his first degree in 2006 & a Masters Degree in Advanced Nursing Practice in 2012. David is also an accredited World Host customer service facilitator.
|Ron Davis, Theatre Manager
Ron joined Claremont in 2016. He has 34 years’ experience working in theatres and healthcare most recently as Theatre Manager with Spire Healthcare in Worcester. He spent 8 years in the Royal Army Medical Corps, 10 years with BMI, four years at Queens Hospital and 10 years with Ramsay Health Care UK.
|Dora Eko, Pharmacy Manager
Dora has been Pharmacy Manager at Claremont since 2006 and this is her first role within private healthcare. Her previous roles as Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager have been NHS hospital and community-pharmacy based. Dora’s key responsibility is the provision of pharmacy services, which she delivers along with her team.

|Robert Ward, Radiology Manager
Robert joined Claremont in April 2017. He has worked in the private sector for the last ten years, most recently managing the Diagnostic Imaging Department at a BMI Hospital. He is looking forward to the prospect of developing the Imaging Team and the Department, reaffirming relationships within the local sector and building upon Claremont’s reputation as a hospital of choice in Sheffield and the surrounding area.
|Leon Coppinger, Materials Manager
Leon joined Claremont in 2019, he managers the purchasing of all hospital requirements and stores team ensuring quality is key. He has spent over 20 years working in all aspects of inventory management, previously in fashion and automotive industries. He is looking forward to driving the Claremont’s supply chain and financial strategies forward.
|Will Banyard, Building Services Manager
Will has been leading the Building Services Department since 2014. Will is enjoying working in the independent sector for the first time. Will has overseen the transition of the department from Support Services to Building Services and is looking forward to the prospect of expanding and developing his team.
|Heather MacPherson, Outpatients Manager
Heather joined Claremont in 2004 and has been in her current role as Out Patients Manager since 2007. Heather is responsible for overseeing outpatient clinics and minor operations. Heather provides support to consultants, patients and the clinical team and is also the Infection Prevention Lead for the hospital.
