Eye-lid reduction surgery (blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove excess skin or fat from the eyelids. An eye-lid reduction procedure can be performed for any of the following reasons:
A lower-eyelid reduction can help to reduce wrinkles and puffiness. The incision for the upper eyelid blepharoplasty is in the natural crease line approximately 10mm above the eyelashes and extends out into the ‘crow’s foot’ area. Excess skin and muscle, which forms the hood, is removed
Blepharoplasty is usually carried out under general anaesthetic followed by a one night stay in hospital. At the end of the operation, ointment is applied to the eyelids. This contains antibiotic to prevent infection and a steroid which is anti-inflammatory to decrease swelling.
If you are considering eye-lid reduction surgery, our cosmetic surgeons can offer a range of advanced treatments. We offer all-inclusive package prices for eye-lid reduction surgery (terms and conditions apply).
