Respiratory medicine is concerned with the organs and tissues associated with breathing including the nasal passages, trachea, pharynx, larynx, lungs and bronchi. These organs are responsible for carrying oxygen from the air to the blood and expelling carbon dioxide. Did you know that on average we breathe approximately 15 to 20 times per minute while at rest?
We offer regular outpatient clinics with Consultant Respiratory Physicians to assess and treat a full range of respiratory conditions including asthma, chronic cough, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), emphysema and sleep apnoea (snoring and breathing difficulties during sleep). We aim, wherever possible, to offer patients the convenience of a one-stop clinic to both diagnose and treat where necessary.
